FAQ

Questions, answered

The essentials about certified translations. The full list is on the FAQ page.

By process: green card by marriage · naturalization · RFE

What is a certified translation?
A certified translation is a complete translation accompanied by a signed statement from the translator that the translation is accurate and that they are competent to translate from the source language into the target language. Linguapair includes this signed certification with your translation.
Do USCIS translations need notarization?
USCIS generally asks for a full English translation with a certification that the translator is competent and that the translation is complete and accurate. It does not generally require the translation to be notarized. Rules can change, so confirm the current requirements on uscis.gov or with your attorney.
Who translates my document?
A professional translator translates or reviews and approves every document before it is certified. The person who certifies signs by name: your certificate carries the translator's printed name, signature, date and contact details, as USCIS expects. We do not publish translator names on this website, to protect their privacy.
What languages are supported?
We translate Spanish to English and English to Spanish. We add a language pair only when a qualified human reviewer is available for it.
How is pricing calculated?
Standard documents are priced at $10 per standard page, where a standard page is up to 250 source words, with a $15 minimum order. Rush service adds 50% of the order total. Handwritten, blurry or technical documents start at $20 per standard page. Offices ordering 20 or more pages a month pay from $8 per page. You always see the price before you commit.
Does Linguapair offer immigration advice?
No. Linguapair provides translation services only. We are not a law firm and do not give legal or immigration advice. For questions about your case, speak with a licensed attorney or an accredited representative.
